...BC native ministries...!
For the past 25 years, Vancouver School of Theology has worked in partnership with First Nations people to provide theological education in a culturally relevant and appropriate context.
When VST was established in 1971, part of its vision was that theological education in preparation for ministry should take its cultural context and location seriously. For the school, this meant its Canadian setting and its relation to the Aboriginal people of Canada. Of particular concern was the desperate need for indigenous ministries that would take seriously the social, cultural and religious contexts of Native communities. In 1978 VST appointed a Native ministries task force, which included several First Nations people.
Native Ministries Consortium
The Native Ministries Consortium was formed in 1985 in response to a challenge by Native Christians. NMC called upon the churches to create new and effective ways of developing and equipping Native leaders for both lay and ordained ministry in Native congregations, and has had a very significant role in the establishment of the Native Ministries Master of Divinity Degree offered by extension through Vancouver School of Theology.
...well first the critique and then a little recognition...!
this is the public "legal" confession as of today, of a Historic disgrace...!
a indigenous people/humans that were considered heathens and quasi/humans and even animals or beasts...!
who had their own religion, but a more intelligent and powerful people/humans invaded and conquered them...!
to no one it is not new, that most indians even in their original life ways and religion, like those of the amazonia, have learnt to have contact with white people, and are not savages anymore, without any religion other than their own !
this picture of indians allegedly becoming priest and feeling proud of it, is a disgrace...! not that Canada is not multicultural, but because of the ignorance...!
indigenous people should feel proud of their own creativity and religion...!
i would show my dignity and not even have anything to do with the white mans religion, and also be proud and run your own culture better than they do ! but you don't !
so this justifies in some part, your submission to white mans culture, life and religion influence !
no doubt morale and strict conduct of white mans religion has served for these humans/people to be so developed. but not so much these days...!
when the truth is really taught and we all become logic humans, we shall be free and happy !
meanwhile we all are some kind of "slaves" of the/their system of illogic thought and illogic control...!
